HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED TO WORK OUT – PART 2
In our last post, we shared three tips on how to stay motivated to workout that were focused on what you can do as an individual. In this post, we have a few tips on how you can stay motivated to work out by getting support from others.
Here are three more tips on how to stay motivated to work out (and don’t miss tips #1-3):
4. SHARE YOUR GOALS WITH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER.
Friends and family can be excellent sources for accountability. So don’t keep your goals a secret. Share what you’re working on with someone you know who will support you. It helps to have someone in your corner who is there to give you a nudge in the right direction on the days when your motivation is low.
5. WORK OUT WITH A GROUP OF SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE.
On those days that you don’t really feel like doing anything, it helps so much to surround yourself with a group of excited and supportive people. Even if you don’t feel like it, your coaches and fellow workout buddies can help with your energy levels and get you more excited to move. Ten minutes into a workout, you won’t even remember how you felt before you got started.
6. KEEP IT FUN.
If your workouts aren’t all that fun, then eventually, you’ll probably stop putting in the work. No more work means no more results. The alternative is to find a workout that you enjoy. You don’t have to love every single thing about it, but it has to be fun. You’ll sweat, feel like your heart might beat out of your chest, and get sore, but there is still an underlying element of fun. Find that piece and hang onto it.
