The striking martial arts include Kickboxing, Boxing, and Muay Thai. Kickboxing gives practitioners a full-body workout and builds physical skills, like agility.

This is a fast-moving martial art with quick body movements, and it’s just as much for your mind as it is for your body. And though some movements look complex and only for competitive athletes, it’s for beginners as much as it is for experienced athletes.

If you’re curious to learn more, here are just a few of the benefits you can expect from kickboxing:

1. SELF-DEFENSE

Through kickboxing, you’ll develop your punches, kicks, footwork, and defensive techniques. Self-defense techniques are a valuable, empowering set of skills. We hope that you’re never in a situation where you need to use these skills. But practicing your skills in various training situations can help you protect yourself if ever needed.

2. FITNESS AND FULL BODY TRAINING

Kickboxing incorporates the use of quick body movements and footwork as you move around your opponent. This is an activity where you must engage your full body as you stay in constant motion. You’ll discover that all of this movement makes for an effective (and fun) workout.

3. IMPROVED AGILITY

In kickboxing, not only must you stay in constant motion, but you also have to move quickly. At the same time, you also learn how to change direction fluidly and rapidly in response to your opponent’s movements. Working on making swift movements helps athletes build athleticism through improved agility, quick reflexes, coordination, and flexibility. You may not feel agile when you start, but kickboxing will get you there guaranteed.
