HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED TO WORK OUT – PART 1

We have several tips that can help you maintain your workout motivation. In this post, we’ll share three tips on how to stay motivated to workout that focus on what you can do as an individual. In part two, we’ll share a few tips on how you can maintain your workout motivation by getting support from others.

No matter how committed you are to achieving your fitness goals, you’ll likely experience days when your motivation to work out drops off. While these days aren’t entirely avoidable, there are things you can do to maintain your motivation.

Here are three tips on how to stay motivated to work out:

1. PUT YOUR GOALS SOMEWHERE VISIBLE.

After you’ve set SMART fitness or martial arts goals, post them somewhere you’ll see them several times a day. Stick them on your bathroom mirror or on your refrigerator. Rather than being out of sight, out of mind, keeping your goals where you can see them creates a reminder of what you’re working toward.

2. GET A WORKOUT MEMBERSHIP.

When you only work out on your own, it can be easy to talk yourself out of your daily workouts. But if you commit to a gym membership, then you’re more likely to stick to your routine. Not only will you get quality workouts from knowledgeable instructors, but you also don’t need to think of what you’re going to do at the gym each time you show up. Your coach or instructor is there to help you get an effective workout.

3. ADD SOME VARIETY.

In addition to quality workouts, signing up for a workout membership can also help you get more variety in your workout routine. Rather than going through the same routine day after day, mix things up by trying different group classes and workout options. You’re less likely to get bored and more likely to stay motivated with the variety you’re getting from different classes, movements, and intensity levels.
